Houston, we have a problem. When I opened the rear drive and removed the ring gear carrier, my heart sank. Severe damage to the pinion teeth. One is nearly gone and two others are badly chipped.

While I'm in this far, it's only prudent to remove the swingarm to make sure everything is okay. A little minor work is necessary.

U-joint shows signs of spinning in the carrier bearing but is otherwise in excellent condition. I'll peen the bearing area and apply a locking compound to tighten the fit.

Swingarm pivot seals are leaking and will be replaced, bearings need to be cleaned and repacked.
