Steering head bearings are tight and notchy feeling, definitely will have to check that out.

After flooding the steering head with PB Blaster, the triple clamp finally came out. Bearings aren't too bad, the grease (what there was of it) was just dried and hardened.

The steering damper is totally shot. Not sure the bike really even needs one though.

Triple clamp back in place after the bearings were cleaned and repacked. Feels much better now.

A comparison of fork internals. Top is the two-piece original spring, second down is a new Wirth progressive spring. Third down is an original damper cartridge and on the bottom the new FAC unit. Good thing we replaced the damper cartridges - this one leaks profusely when the rod is moved in and out.
