Checking the blow-off pressure of the oil pressure relief valve. As found it wouldn't hold any pressure - not even 5 psi. Engine must have been running very low oil pressure as a result. Maybe why the oil pump was in such bad condition? No matter what I did the pressure wouldn't come up - finally just replaced the whole assembly with a good used one.
